Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island review
More information on Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for the SNES can be found here.
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for SNES was an overall wonderful game. It combined a good plot, nice graphics, (a SNES game that contained some 3-D graphics at some points!), and fun game play to create a nice, well rounded game.
This game definately stepped off of the beaten path set by other Mario games. This game sets the protagonists to be Baby Mario , (obviously a baby version of Mario), and the other hero; Yoshi. This story takes place in the past before Mario began to fight Bowser, and the goal of this game is for Baby Mario and Yoshi to get to Bowser's castle, where a new born Luigi had been recently captured.
This game's feel is completly different than the regular Mario games, with more exotic settings, and the fact that even the character you control is different, (the player controls Yoshi, while Baby Mario rides on his back). A fun, and fresh twist to the Mario game series, I give it a 7.5 out of 10.
